This BTEC Level 3 Award is studied over Years 12 and 13. The course provides 180 credits (equivalent to three A Levels). The course explores a wide range of environmental topics and the industry that is growing to tackle issues relating to sustainability. You will gain skills and knowledge development that will be valuable in the rapidly growing low carbon economy.

You will be assessed through completing coursework. At the end of Year 1, you will gain the Subsidiary Diploma in Environmental Sustainability (1 A Level equivalent). At the end of Year 2, you will be awarded the Extended Diploma in Environmental Sustainability (3 A Level equivalent).

There are a variety of employment options and higher apprenticeships available in sustainability and green jobs, as well as links to engineering jobs and coastal and marine management. This BTEC can also be used as a pathway to an HND or degree in applied science, environmental science or marine or coastal sciences.
