This Level 2 Technical Award will allow you to build your skill set in practical design and layout. Over Years 10 and 11, you will learn a mix of key traditional techniques, such as 2D and 3D drawing and sketching, plus how to make use of modern digital technologies, including web design. The course enables a practical and imaginative approach to building graphic design and layout skills essential to marketing, publishing and communications.

There are no entry requirements for starting this course.
Following the requirements of AQA Level 2 Technical Award, you will be assessed by completing two pieces of coursework and a written exam. The first piece of coursework involves a number of bitesize projects designed to showcase your skills and knowledge of different techniques. The second piece of coursework is an extended project to demonstrate your understanding of planning and development, making, testing, evaluation and communicating. The written exam paper (1 hour and 30 minutes) includes a mixture of multiple choice and longer questions.
