We have been busy with visitors this week at UTC Plymouth.
On Tuesday this week, we hosted the STEM Forum Meeting. It was a great opportunity to show our visitors the amazing facilities we have to create STEM activities and they were impressed!
One of the discussions at the meeting was regarding the preparation for Mayflower 2020. Below is a link to an exciting crowd funding project that you may wish to support – having your name on a robot ship, amazing! Please check it out and support if you can.
We also had a visit from our DfE Advisor, Chris Montacute. I observed lessons in English and Maths and Chris was pleased to see the progress that UTC Plymouth is making with our Teaching and Learning.
Finally, we had a visit from our UTC Plymouth, Royal Navy Liaison Officer Paul Youngman who together with Reverend John Money, led an assembly for Remembrance Day. Our students were outstanding in both their uniform and their professionalism throughout the moving assembly. I would like to say a big thank you to all staff and students who wore their Armed Forces uniform in support of this important day.
As we hurtle through the term towards Christmas, I wanted to remind you of a number of important dates:
17th November – Meet the Principal Day – please book an appointment with reception if you would like to meet.
24th November – Open Evening – Register online on our website if you are interested in attending.
21-25 November 2016 – Internal Assessment and Mock Week
30th November – PARENT Forum – Theme – Employability – Babcock will be attending.
An additional note on comments from visitors this week – how calm and well behaved our students are. It is so good to see the UTC Values shining through our students!
