Students and staff have been very busy this week with lots happening, in and out of the college.
Work Experience Interviews
On Wednesday Year 10’s and 12’s had interviews with some of region largest employers in regards to gaining a work experience placement within their organisations. We had employers in the college from the Royal Navy, Wrigley, UTC Aerospace and Babcock conducting interviews with our students. I was delighted to see students grasping the opportunity and acting very professional, they did UTC proud!
Skills Show South West
This week we attended and sponsored the Skills Show South West, held at the Plymouth Pavillions. We spoke to hundreds of young people and their parents about what we do here. The two-day event was a great success, with visitors to our stall speaking very highly of the college and they seemed interested in attending our next open day.
World Book Day
On Thursday everyone dressed up for charity due to it being World Book Day. Students and staff dressed up as their favourite book characters and we had some great outfits on show! We did all this to raise money for Book Aid, a charity which is supported by World Book Day.
Today our team have been setting up for the PMG Apprentice Fair in Plymouth Guildhall. The event is open 10-3 on Saturday the 4th (tomorrow) and will have a whole host of employers, colleges and organisations who will be talking to young people about possible future careers. Come on down and visit our stall for a chat a whole load of freebies!
We have mock exams over the next two weeks in order to give students a taste of what’s to come in the summer. We are all very confident students will do very well as they have all been working extremely hard.
Just a reminder that our Open Day is on Saturday 18th March, with it looking like a busy one. If you want to attend then please register your interest here.
