Really is it week 5 already? We continue to work at pace through a wide range of learning activities that are challenging our students to think outside of the box! It’s also really great to see how our students respond to visitors. We had a visitor last week to test students for extra support.
“As an Examination Access Arrangements Assessor I visit many school, both local and further afield. I was most impressed this morning by the sensible and mature way your students approached the tasks I gave them, and also by their courteous behaviour.”
Really lovely to see students upholding our UTC Values!
Last Saturday we held our Open Day and it was great to see our new students helping and our alumni visiting to talk about their new roles and how UTC helped them on their journey.
This week we also had a new baby at the UTC Plymouth family. Our welding and mechanics lecturer Mike Bluett and his wife Sam welcomed a new baby girl. Can’t wait until we see her!
Really good to welcome a guest lecturer who will be with us until Christmas, Dave Newcombe, Babcock International Engineer from Commissioning Department. Dave set to work with our year 10’S by bringing some old valves from the dock yard. He certainly got our students working hard!
Why we are different?
Because we don’t just offer a set of qualifications. We look at developing our student’s life skills and opportunities.
This week Barclays Bank visited and worked with students on financial education! Great to see students developing these really key skills.
We reward students who work hard.
All students with excellent presentation in all core subjects gained a Principal bronze star today.
Well done to:
Dylan Craven, Jake Deaton Jude Menhenick, Guy Schooling, Charles Platts, Dylan Bilsby, Ryan Barrett
Also well done to the following students who gained a bronze award for their engineering work
Ryan Barrett, Luke Maynard, Dylan Craven and Alex Vallejo
Thanks for reading and have a great weekend
