SPORTS AND WELLBEING
We are extremely proud of our unique position within the education sector and our students agree, as you can see.
We provide a wide and varied quantity of physical training and well-being opportunities to all of our students, and we are supported by an equally diverse range of professional and high-profile organisations.
Our commitment to both staff & student mental and physical health is one of our highest priorities. The provision that UTC Plymouth offers makes great use of our local resources and partners to provide a unique, challenging and exciting array of opportunities throughout every day.
Our staff are also devoted to providing physical training and well-being enrichment activities throughout the week and they do so in their own time – this is something that most of our students really get their teeth into and frequently display everything that UTC Plymouth stands for – our Core Values.
No other schools are able to offer the wide variety of physical training and well-being opportunities that UTC Plymouth do, and we are extremely proud to stand out from the crowd in terms of the kind of provision that we offer.
Dedication, Discipline, Resilience, Professionalism and Respect
Healthy Child Quality Mark
The HCQM programme is a school development service, delivered through officer support, challenge and best practice sharing. The HCQM is now the established Health, Wellbeing and Citizenship development tool in Plymouth’s Education settings.
The Royal Navy
The Royal Navy provides a huge range of physical opportunities for our students which are now part of our core programme throughout the academic year. Field Gun, Combined Cadet Force, kayaking, marching and even tractor tyre lifts and just a small part of this fantastic provision.
The Royal Marines
The Marines take many of our students into Devonport Park to undertake physical drill which takes a great deal of commitment and resilience from our students. They always go all out as they love the challenge and always come back smiling but exhausted!
South Coast Martial Arts
South Coast Martial Arts spend a great deal of time with our students and have provided many hours of psychical training sessions from some of their most qualified and experienced staff.
Males Allowed are not just a fantastic mental health organisation that promote the message ‘its OK not to be OK’ to men throughout the South Coast. Nor are they our chosen charity that work very closely and tirelessly with us. They also spend a great deal of their own time with all of our students, providing their football skills all week long.
