The Healthy Child Quality Mark programme is a school development service, delivered through officer support, challenge and best practice sharing. The HCQM is now the established Health, Wellbeing and Citizenship development tool in Plymouth’s Education settings. School provision, policy and achievement is scrutinised rigorously, using the HCQM Criteria (a set of challenging minimum standards that have developed over the past several years, supporting the achievement of many City and National Education, Health and Wellbeing outcomes.). The programme is available to all schools, colleges, early years’ settings and HE/FE establishment, within Plymouth.
UTC Plymouth received the prestigious Healthy Child Quality Mark in July 2019 as part of a rigorous process in which the College was scrutinised by Plymouth City Council (PCC). Our Safeguarding Officer and SENCo, Jasmin Chapple supported us throughout the process until PCC was satisfied that UTC Plymouth had met the required criteria to enable us to receive this prestigious certification.
