Breaking the stereotype that STEM is a male-only career choice
Don't believe the sterotypes - STEM is a great career for women
Many women’s initial STEM reluctance can be traced back to the careers advice received at school — or lack of it. “The real-life applications of what the industry does — and the opportunities and excitement it affords — were never explained to me,” explains Victoria Cole, the Head of Flight Physics and Capability at Airbus. “What changed my mind was working in the industry and discovering those things for myself.”
At UTC Plymouth Women in STEM has been core to our operations for some time and is showing benefits with our students obtaining STEM-oriented jobs and apprenticeships.
