About the course
This Level 2 certificate award is for studied during Years 10 and 11. In Further Maths, you will learn to reason logically and interpret and communicate mathematical information. You will develop skills in and understanding of mathematical methods and concepts, learning to apply mathematical techniques to solve a variety of problems.

Entry requirements
This qualification is aimed at students who already have or expect to get grades A and A* in GCSE Mathematics and who are likely to continue to study maths at a higher level, such as A Level.
Assessment
This course follows the AQA Linear A* to C Level 2 Certificate. You will sit two examination papers in the summer of Year 11 to gain your qualification. Paper 1 is a non-calculator assessment and lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes. Paper 2 is a – hour exam in which a calculator is allowed. There is no coursework in the GCSE Mathematics course.
