How long will the Open Day take?
The visit is flexible but most families spend around 45 minutes to 1.5 hours touring the school, speaking with staff and exploring departments. You’re welcome to stay as long as you like.
Will there be more Open Events?
No, we love going all‑out for our Open Evening and because so much planning and effort goes into it, it’s an annual event. This will be the only Open Evening we host this year.
What can I do if I miss the event?
We really don’t want you to miss this. As mentioned above, we put a huge amount of energy into our Open Evening and it truly is the best time to experience the school. We can offer additional tours at a later date if you’re unable to attend but these are much simpler walk‑throughs and spaces will be limited.
Will we meet teachers and staff?
Yes! Teachers, support staff and school leaders will be on hand to answer your questions, showcase our departments and talk through what life at UTC Plymouth is like.
Will students be involved in the Open Day?
Yes, many of our student ambassadors will be giving tours, talking about their experiences and sharing what makes UTC Plymouth special from their perspective. Be sure to have some questions ready for them!
What age groups is this event for?
This Open Day is primarily aimed at Year 5 and Year 6 pupils and their families but all year groups are welcome to attend, especially if you are considering transferring to UTC Plymouth in the near future. We are also welcoming our doors to any aspiring sixth form students, start your future with us.

Will we receive information to take home?
Absolutely. Prospectuses, leaflets and other materials will be available to help you review everything at home.
